Tea & Tropes Events
Fantasy Book Events
Welcome to Tea & Tropes, where fantasy enthusiasts gather to celebrate the magic of storytelling! Born from the Tea & Tropes podcast, we wanted to create a place of literature, camaraderie, and adventure for all fantasy lovers.
At our conventions, imagination knows no bounds. Whether you're a reader, an author, or simply someone who loves fantasy, you'll find yourself right at home amidst our vibrant community. From the moment you step through our doors, you'll be embraced by a warm atmosphere of acceptance and friendship.
Our events are more than just gatherings; they're celebrations of the genre, where attendees are invited to immerse themselves in a world where anything is possible. Step into our marketplaces where you can find treasures of all kinds, and even meet your favorite authors! Join us for insightful panels where authors share the secrets of their craft, or engage in lively discussions.
And when the sun sets, the festivities continue with evening activities that are nothing short of magical. Dance the night away at one of our enchanting balls, try your hand at archery and axe throwing, enjoy entertainment at the Fantasy Faire, and refresh yourself with our signature cocktails and mocktails!
So come and join us for a weekend you won't forget!
Code of Conduct
General Code of Conduct
All attendees, vendors, guests, and volunteers are expected to treat others with respect and kindness. Harassment of any kind—verbal, physical, or otherwise—will not be tolerated. This includes unwelcome advances, discriminatory remarks, and intrusive photography or filming. Failure to comply with staff or security requests may result in removal from the event without a refund.
Costumes & Props
This is a fantasy realm—costumes are encouraged, creativity is adored. All props must be peace-bonded at check-in. No functional weapons of any kind are allowed. No projectiles. That includes Nerf, foam, glitter bombs, etc. Cosplay is not consent. Always ask before taking photos or initiating contact.
Badges & Wristbands
Badges/wristbands must be worn and visible at all times. Lost badges can be replaced for a fee at registration (with ID). No badge = no entry. No exceptions. Tampering with badges/wristbands or sharing them is grounds for immediate removal.
Access Control
Some areas and events are ticketed or tier-restricted. Respect signage and staff directions. Only authorized personnel are allowed in restricted zones (like backstage or green rooms).
Photography & Media
Personal photography is allowed in public spaces, but always ask before photographing people. No flash during panels or performances unless otherwise stated. By attending, you consent to being photographed/recorded for promotional use.
No Livestreaming
Live streaming of any panels, performances, or special events is strictly prohibited.
This includes Instagram Live, TikTok Live, Facebook Live, Twitch, and any other real-time broadcasting platform.
You’re welcome to take personal photos or short clips (unless otherwise stated), but full recordings and streams are not allowed out of respect for our guests, performers, and fellow attendees.
Bags & Personal Items
Bags are subject to inspection at the discretion of staff or security. Don't leave your belongings unattended—we summon no protection spells for lost items.
Children & Teen Attendees
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Some panels and events may be marked 18+. IDs may be checked at entry.
Accessibility
We strive to be an inclusive and welcoming space for all. Please contact staff at registration for any accessibility needs or assistance.
Safety & Emergency Procedures
In case of emergency, follow staff instructions and venue guidelines. Emergency exits must remain clear and accessible at all times. Do not block or obstruct them under any circumstances. First aid is onsite, but in case of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
Prohibited Items & Behavior
No illegal substances, firearms, explosives, or aggressive familiars. No outside alcohol permitted on-site. Anyone visibly intoxicated or causing disruption will be removed.
